How will a loan going into default affect me?
I had a loan that went into deault and it is now sorted out and completely paid off. I want to go to grad school, but will I be able to get financial aid for it, or will this still hang over my head?

As long as its taken care of, you should be okay. However, sometimes it takes awhile to update the tracking system, so when you apply with fafsa, be prepared to prove the loan is paid in full.

If it has been taken care of, it should not pose a problem. Still file for FAFSA, and talk to your potential schools financial aid office, just to make sure.
