I want to just apply for a credit card at a bank, and not any of their checking accounts. I have checking/savings accounts at another credit union. Is it possible for me to apply for the credit card account at the bank and pay it off with the checking accounts from the credit union? Should I ask the bank?

I know closing credit cards does affect your credit score, but how about closing a checking account?
I need a checking account but it needs to be one that doesn’t have to be with a joint account with a parent, for a 14 year old, no minumin balance, no monthly service fee, and no direct deposit necessary every month. Any suggestions? Thanks

I live in PA and I have a checking account that allows overdrafts. I need to write a check to a friend to pay him but it would be for more than i have in there. I need to know if you can overdraft an account by check? What about by ATM?
How old do you need to be to have a debit card/checking account? Like, the kid (lets say she’s 15), has a lot of money saved up at her house, and she wants to put it in the bank. She can put it in a checking account. So, if it is HER checking account, is she allowed to get a debit card and use it whenever she wants to? Or will the cashier at the store say that you have to be a certain age to use a debit card?
I’m going off to college and the closest branch of the bank I currently use will be an hour and a half away. The closest one to my campus are Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo, and Citibank. There are others but those are the major ones. Which would be best to open a checking account with?
I want to add someone to my Bank of America checking account, will they run that person through chexsystems, if their just a secondary user and I am the primary?
