I have direct deposit that had sent money to that account today. How long will it be before I get that money and can I ask them to send it as direct deposit to my other bank account?

I’m not sure what bank to go to, some say Washington Mutual, but others say Bank of America. What do you recommend? Also, I don’t make that much money, but I’m in an argument between a checking and a savings account.

People never give their details out over the phone, there must be a reason?

Does anyone know what the steps are to transfer money from Canada to a Bank of China account in Hong Kong? I don’t have a Bank of China account, but I think I could transfer money via my own bank account, or walk into the Bank of China branch in Canada and do the transfer? However, what is involved with this process? Service charge? How long does it take? How secure is it? If anyone has done it, and can share your knowledge and/or experience, that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

My friends credit card was declined during dinner and she called the bank and they told her a lawyer in another state froze her account. The bank does not know who the creditor is, only the lawyer. It has been a week and the laywer has not returned any calls and his the phone number provided is a cell phone. We are talkin over $5k frozen. She swears she owes no one, has perfect credit, just received a recent copy of her credit report and everything. Could it be possible identity theft? I’ve done searches trying to find this lawyer, a address or something and cannot find anything, the bank cannot either. Help me, help my friend.

I have Japanese bank account (I got shipped off there to do some work) and would like to get my money out of Japan and into my US based bank account.

Has anyone done this before, or know how to go about it? Can the bank do it, and the currency conversion, if I provide them the account numbers or do I have to use a third party? Thanks.

I just barely turned eighteen in may and I’m about to get a job once I finish school. I want to know what type of bank account has interest, no overdraft( like one that I have to have a minimum balance to keep open. I want to be smart with my money and build credit.

Lets say you have a US Bank Account and you gave a website your routing number and bank account number to make withdraws from your bank account for purchases.

If you CLOSE that US Bank Account, can the website still make withdraws from the closed account using your routing number and checking account number of the closed account?

I’m hoping an employee of a bank can answer this.

I’m wondering what a bank account is called that is run by several people. That has a sort of check and balances effect so that one person doesn’t have all the power. Can anyone help me?
