I had money in a bank account, which was levied. I am paying the collection agency tomorrow, they will notify the court to have the levy lifted. However, my bank had closed my account. Where did my money go? Do I have to contact my bank? the account was closed about a year ago and a half ago, but the money was levied, which means it is frozen. Will the bank issue me a check?

I want to leave the account that I’m on with my mom and open my own account because I can’t put up with her any longer. Is there a bank that will allow me to open my own account wqithout having discretion from somone over 18? If it’s any help, I live in New York City.

I know where the levy came from, but im not sure whether i should pay the bank or the main source. I dont want to pay one and the other saying i still owe the money. How can i resolve this levy?
